Describe the paper you want — the builder assembles it
The smart paper builder is the rules engine underneath quick creation, board patterns, and pairing schemes. You define the shape of a paper once — sections, counts, marks, choice, and chapter distribution — and it assembles correct papers from those rules, every time.
What it is
Think of it as a specification for your paper rather than a document. A specification might say: Section A has 12 MCQs worth 1 mark each drawn evenly from Chapters 1–4; Section B offers 8 short questions of which students attempt 5; Section C has 3 long questions with OR choices, one from each of three chapter groups. The builder turns that specification into an actual paper — and can turn it into a different actual paper next week using the same rules.
Because the rules live separately from any single paper, your structure becomes reusable. The same specification produces Monday tests all term, or parallel versions for different class sections, without re-deciding anything.
What the rules can express
Section structure
Any combination of MCQ, short, and long question sections, each with its own instructions and marks.
Choice and parts
"Attempt any 6 of 8", OR-paired long questions, and (a)/(b) parts inside a single question — with marks formulas that stay accurate.
Chapter distribution
Spread questions across chapters or pin a section to specific chapters — the basis of pairing scheme generation.
Why it matters
The hardest part of paper setting is not typing — it is keeping the structure coherent: totals that add up, choices that are fair, coverage that matches what was taught. The builder enforces that coherence mechanically, so a structural mistake simply cannot reach the printed page.
It also makes institutional consistency practical. A coordinator can define the standard structure for all Class 9 chemistry tests, and every teacher’s paper follows it automatically.
Practical example
An academy runs a Sunday test series where every paper must be 60 marks: 20 MCQs, 8-of-12 short questions, and 2-of-3 long questions. The coordinator sets this up once. Each week, teachers only change the chapter scope — Week 1 covers Chapter 1, Week 6 covers Chapters 1–5 cumulatively — and generate. Twenty weeks of structurally identical, content-fresh papers from one definition.
Common questions
Is the smart paper builder a separate tool I have to learn?
No — it is the engine behind quick creation, board pattern mode, and pairing scheme generation. You use it every time you configure a paper’s structure; the "smart" part is that the structure is enforced and reusable.
What happens if the bank has fewer questions than my rules ask for?
The builder fills what it can and shows you the draft in the preview, where you can adjust counts or widen the chapter scope before printing.
